Le groupe chinois de Post-Rock / Traditionnal Folk, Zhaoze (沼澤) vient de dévoiler son nouvel EP, Summer Insects Talk About Ice (夏虫语冰). Disponible au format K7 et digital il se découvre en streaming intégral ci-dessous.
Cet EP raconte une épopée du microcosme, l'EP est aussi ephèmére que la vie des insectes, leur impossibilité de parler de l'Hiver : "The titile is inspired by the phrase from Collected Commentaries of Zhuangzi, "夏虫不可以语于冰者，笃于时也。", which means you could hardly talk about the winter ice with the insect which won't live through the summer, and has been extended to decribe that people are limited to what they see and hear, and their knowledge is always short-sighted.
But Hoyliang named it in a further meaning.
The insects born and died in summer, yet to talk about the ice and snow in the distant winter; and how much content and meaning could be expressed by these only 32-sec length songs, which is ephemeral like those insects."
Zhaoze (沼澤) s'inspire également d'un style traditionnel de quatrain datant de la Chine ancienne - le poème Jueju, qui a des règles strictes : seulement 5 ou 7 mots par ligne, et un motif, un temps, un accent, une rime et même un distique, etc. Peu importe la sévérité de ces règles, des milliers de chefs-d'œuvre ont été composés de cette manière. Cela a donné naissance à 10 morceaux, comme 10 poèmes jueju, ou 10 histoires pour 10 espèces d'insectes.
