Fondé en 2010, et après un premier EP en 2015 Inexhaustible (無窮無盡) ainsi que de nombreux changements de line-up, le groupe de Black Metal Symphonique chinois HolyPower vient de sortir son nouvel EP et annoncé la stabilisation de ses membres. Il s'intitule 九夜 (Nine Nights) et il est disponible via Infected Blood Records.
L'EP s'inspire de littérature occidentale et d'auteurs comme Dante Alighieri et sa Divine Comédie et du Paradis Perdu de John Milton. Voici le commentaire du groupe : "Nine Nights is an new EP with the symphonic black metal concept produced by HOLYPOWER after its reorganization in 2017. Compared with the band’s previous musical works, the tracks in the new EP focus more on religious and ritualistic sense, and pursue combination of symphony and metal in musical arrangement and balance of melody and extreme.
The creative concept of the EP originates from the nine nights during which a Fallen angel Lucifer fell into The devil of hell from a Morning Star recorded in European literature. Its lyrics refer to various narratives from literature works, such as Dante Alighieri’s Divine Comedy, John Milton’s Paradise Lost, etc., with Cantonese lyrics as a form of expression. The six tracks in the album correspond to the six chapters of story framework of Nine Nights: Morning Star, Light Bearing, Arrogance, Fight, Fall and Descend To The Earth Once More. The six magnificent symphonic poems discuss Holy, Fall... and reveal Apocalypse and Original Sin."
L'EP se divise en deux partie, on retrouve les titres "normaux" puis les mêmes en version instrumentale. Adeptes d'Anorexia Nervosa, Carach Angren ou encore Dimmu Borgir, découvrez le ci-dessous.
